Tucker is 2 weeks old!
So Tucker turned two weeks old today. It's hard to believe it's been that long already. He is such a good baby. He has this calm, laid back personality. He rarely cries, but when he does he means business. He'll sleep 5 or 6 hour stretches at night already. It's amazing! We've been able to take him out on errands and stuff already and he always cooperates. He loves car and stroller rides.

Blake loves helping out with his baby brother. He's an expert at warming bottles, but he has no part in changing diapers. I can't blame him. LOL Aaron has been of work the last two weeks. It's been so great having him around to help out and being able to spend time with him. I'm going to hate it when he has to go back to work next week.

I'm finally starting to feel somewhat like my old self again. Most of the soreness is gone and recovery from the stitches is almost complete. I've only got about 8 lbs to go until I'm back at my pre-pregnancy weight. Yay!

Here are some pictures from the last couple of weeks:

He's here!
After a 5 1/2 hour labor Tucker has arrived. He was born at 2:25PM today weighing 8lbs 7ozs and 21" in length.

The whole experience was amazing. The contractions came on quick and hard once they started and I didn't even have time for the epidural to kick in. OUCH! But the pushing was quick and intense and it was actually pretty amazing to experience the whole thing drug free. Everything about it was different than my labor with Blake. It really couldn't have been any better...well unless that epidural had done it's thing. LOL

So far Tucker has been amazing. He seems very laid back and easy going. He rarely cries and is a big eater already. Hopefully he'll continue to be so easy to take care of.

Finally - some news!
Well the doctor's office called this morning. I was supposed to go in Thursday for a non stress test if the baby hadn't come yet but everyone in the office was so shocked that I hadn't gone into labor yet that the doctor went ahead and scheduled an induction for me tomorrow morning! So barring a 24 hour labor, Tucker should be here tomorrow!

I don't know much about being induced. I've heard it can make labor longer and contractions harder but I'm going to try not to worry about that. It does feel a bit odd having a baby on a schedule, knowing when it's going to start. But after all this waiting I'm not complaining.

I need to go finish packing my hospital bags and make sure I have everything in order for baby's homecoming!

We're supposed to arrive at the hospital at 7:30am tomorrow morning. I'm sure Aaron and I won't be able to sleep tonight!

Ugh!
This is not what I was expecting at all. Overdue?!!?! Ohhhhhh man. With all the talk for months of the baby measuring big and then the excitement last week of being dilated and effaced got us all worked up to have an early (or at least on time!) baby. It never occurred to me that he could and would actually be late.

I've already used up a week and a half of maternity leave and here we are starting another week. I've tried nearly everything. From sitting here waiting for something to happen, to going out of town Saturday. We thought for sure if we went out of town that would be tempting fate too much and surely I'd start having contractions or my water would break while I was far from the hospital. Nope. We did go to Sonic to eat though (they just built one about 30 minutes away...we don't have one in town) and to a brand new Target that just opened. It was a nice distraction for a while. I sure could go for another one of those Toaster sandwiches! Then I was going so stir crazy in the house yesterday so Aaron and I went for a walk around the neighborhood. Again, nothing. Then I baked a cake. It's really hard keeping busy and not going crazy being at home all the time. But at the same time I don't have much energy to do anything. Blake is off school today and tomorrow for election day. He wants to go out shopping later so maybe we'll do that and grab some lunch.

My doctor's appointment isn't until Thursday. That seems so far off. I'm taking my hospital bag with me to the appointment and am hoping she will just send me straight over to labor and delivery to induce me. That is if nothing happens between now and then...which it certainly doesn't seem like it's going to.

Due Date!
So today is my official due date. I thought for sure I would not have made it to this point. I guess Tucker is on his own schedule. He's making sure we know who's boss already.

Nothing has changed over the last few days. I have had a few random contractions but I'll only have about 2 or 3 or so and they are about 20 minutes apart and then they'll stop and I won't have anymore for hours...or days...my last one was yesterday morning around 8am. What the heck?!?!

So from all that excitement on Tuesday to nothing. I took Blake trick or treating on Halloween, all that walking didn't even get anything started. I'm trying a new tactic today...not thinking about it so much and going on with other things I need to do around the house etc. It'll happen when it happens...

If nothing happens by Thursday we have an appointment for a non stress test at which an induction will more than likely be scheduled.

Here's Blake trick or treating:
